What is our DIMES^® technology in detail?

The DIMES^® technology is all about capacity measurement.  We measure, in real time, the content of liquefied gas in the tank or cylinder. This capacitance technology uses our dedicated probe design to measure the change in capacitance with the surrounding liquified gas and provides ultra-precise data, unlike the significantly less accurate readings of a conventional mechanical level gauge. The level information can be retrieved locally directly from the DIMES^® display, via Bluetooth or by NB-IoT.

How does digital level measurement systems work for liquid gases?

A probe acts like a capacitor, with a “hot” conductor against an opposite “cold” conductor, connected to the gas tank or gas cylinder. With this system, the space between the conductors is partially filled with the liquefied gas for which we want to know the level. As the quantity of medium changes into the cylinder, the level of liquid between the probes changes, altering the capacitance. When the level decreases, the sensor covered by the liquid decreases and therefore the capacitance.
